To flatten the learning curve for new developpers, we offer help on a selected set of tasks we find suitable. Each task has a balance between learning experience, difficulty, usefulness of the outcome as well as funding options. The onboarding process is meant kickstart your own independent project funding or job application.
Onboarding tasks are provided as “issues” on codeberg with an “onboarding” label. They are open to everyone for any purpose, including discussion. Some issues carry an additional label indicating their difficulties. These are “beginner”, “intermediate” and “advanced”. Pick the right level to get the best out of the help we can offer.
A beginner task is intended for learning. Intermediate and advanced onboarding tasks are more time consuming, and some monetary support is available, currently from our NLnet grant. NLnet will not pay consultancy fees, but a month full time coverage for an advanced task completed is realistic. Contributions are often plugins or git commits and are subject to review.
